The journey continues
The journey of AUDAC all began when a young Patrick Van de Sande who at the age of 6 was triggered by a technician that came in and repaired his parent’s television. Watching the technician bring back the broken television to life left a huge impression on Patrick and soon he was tinkering and playing with all electrical devices he could get his hand on.
What started as a hobby for Patrick Van de Sande grew into an international brand that pays great attention to innovation. After all these years we still believe in the same foundations that have formed us.

The story of PVS begins with a young Patrick Van de Sande who, at the age of 6, was triggered by a technician that came in and repaired his parent’s television. He started tinkering with all kinds of devices that he could get his hands on and by the age of 11 he was able to build his first crystal radio receiver. What started as an interest became a hobby when he set up his own repair shop in the attic of his parents.
In the early days the PVS shop mostly sold Hi Fi systems and televisions, but Patrick began to focus solely on audio devices. PVS started also offering an all-round service, not only the repair and sale of audio systems but also the installation on site of these systems.
Due to the fast growth of the company, the demand for new innovative products that were not yet available on the market also rose. This inspired the company in 1992 to start investing time and resources in developing its own brand, AUDAC.
Soon the need for a larger building emerged. In 1994 the construction of a new building started giving PVS the necessary space to start distributing several audio brands and at the same time expand its own product range.
“It’s not just about the innovation of better products, it’s about creating an experience.” Just one example of this dedication must be the development of the world’s first web-based matrix, which rocked the audio world.
The expansions in the brand portfolio are a success. Thanks to a strong distribution network, the PVS brands are becoming available in more and more countries. However, this also means that the company is gradually bursting at the seams again. Luckily, an adjacent plot of land could be acquired, on which an additional warehouse was built.
Providing the best value and service together with the ability to listen to the needs of their partners has led to the fact that many distributors around the world selected AUDAC as their main audio brand.
To further enhance these relationships in 2013 the brand built the AUDAC Experience Center in. The main purpose of this new state-of-the-art building is to let distributors and end-users experience the products in a unique environment. Besides several listening and demonstration areas, it also includes training areas inside the complex to educate our partners on a regular basis.
We strongly believe in out of your pocket controllable audio solutions that’s why we replaced all standalone applications by one control platform named AUDAC Touch™. With these applications available on all platforms users could now control and configure all AUDAC devices and even third-party devices simultaneously in one dashboard.
Founder and CEO, Patrick Van De Sande, passes the torch of CEO to his son Tom. This was announced during the festivities of the 35th anniversary of PVS. Tom got the love for audio-visual innovations from his father at an early age. Tom grew up with the company and started there at the age of 12 as a handyman, later became a sales manager, and was now officially appointed CEO.
Due to the global growth of the company, the current headquarters in Hasselt became too limited. With the future in mind, they invested into a new industrial location in Stevoort with a total surface area of 55.000m². A total of €12,000,000 was invested in the new HQ. Investments were also made in the test facility with a temperature and RFID chamber to carry out EMC measurements.
In the future, we would like to to emphasise on the connection with our valuable partners. These moments are an opportunity to exchange ideas, opinions and knowledge in the many sessions which were available. They will be given the opportunity to discover all our new innovations and products during live demo’s. During these training days, we will also have a great scoop for our guests and their future wishes.
