Job description

As Quality Engineering Manager at PVS, you will take the lead in designing, implementing and managing quality processes for all product lines (software, hardware, embedded systems and outsourced work) to ensure that products meet the highest performance standards and comply with both internal and external specifications prior to release to market. Therefore, this role will contribute to the company's success and reputation by maintaining the highest quality standards. 

What does this exactly mean?

Your responsibilities:  

• You define test methods and validation protocols (including feedback touch points) for new products, from prototypes to finished products and this in the various product groups. You'll be the lead to define these methods into processes and roll them out internally.
• You draw up comprehensive test plans to guarantee the performance, safety and reliability of products.
• You define protocols and implement processes for products that are not quality-compliant. You'll incorporate the 5WHY methodology to optimize the production process internally and externally with manufacturer.
• When developing test and validation strategies, you take into account innovative working methods and the latest trends in the field. You develop and implement new test methods, tools and procedures to improve the efficiency of the testing process. 
• You ensure that products comply with relevant regulations and industry standards (e.g. CE, RoHS, UL).You have experience in managing test projects, allocating resources, and ensuring test activities are carried out on time in line with product launches.
•  You ensure the smooth running of functional, performance, stress, durability and validation tests in accordance with project plans and deadlines.
• You oversee environmental testing, such as humidity, temperature and shock resistance, especially for outdoor AV products.
• You oversee the procurement and maintenance of test equipment and ensure that test facilities are adequately equipped to carry out all necessary test activities.
• You manage a team of test engineers and technicians and are responsible for task allocation, coaching and ensuring high performance within the team.
• You collect, evaluate and analyze test results to assess product performance. You report these test results and make recommendations for improvements or product design changes to the product development teams.  
• You prepare detailed test reports for management and other stakeholders and make recommendations based on the results.  
• You create and maintain quality related documentation including test protocols, quality control reports and failure analysis documents.  
• You act as a liaison between internal R&D, QA, Product and external stakeholders (production, suppliers) to ensure that test and validation criteria meet product design specifications and technical standards.  
• You work closely with internal R&D teams to define and refine product specifications that are consistently applied in production.  
• You are responsible for the internal and external communication flow of any quality deviations found to keep all stakeholders informed. 

What skills and talents do you bring to PVS?  

• You have a bachelor's or master's degree in a technical field such as electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, computer science or a similar education.
• At least 5 years' experience in quality testing. You have extensive knowledge of test and validation processes, including test plan design and test execution for both hardware and software. Experience of automated testing tools is an advantage.
• You have proven experience in managing test teams. You have experience of managing and coaching teams, with a proven ability to motivate a team and achieve goals within deadlines.
• You have good written and oral communication skills (in both Dutch and English) to clearly report test results and make recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Knowledge of quality standards: thorough knowledge of industry standards and certification requirements such as ISO, CE, UL and other relevant standards.  
• You have experience of managing test projects, allocating resources and ensuring that test activities are delivered on time to support product launches.
• You have knowledge and experience of data analysis tools and software packages such as ERP, WMS and PLM platforms.
• You have strong analytical and problem solving skills to identify and resolve technical challenges that arise during the testing process.
• You have a business mindset, representing the company's interests outside of your department. You will think like a business partner and make suggestions to ensure business efficiency.  
• You have excellent attention to detail.
• You have a proactive and solution-oriented, but above all hands-on, attitude.
